Description
The launch site near Ravine Hotel, situated at an elevation of 1240 meters, is a popular spot for paragliding in India. This site is regularly used and offers good opportunities for cross-country (XC) flying. Soaring conditions are typically favorable.
The flying season runs from November to February. The area is a well-known hill station, providing a range of accommodation options. "Eco Camp" is a recommended place to stay, especially since the owner is a paraglider.

Launch positions include:
- East Side @ Harrison Folly (1000m)
- West Side @ Sydney Point (1300m)
- West Side @ Sydney Point (600m)
The landing position is generally at 600 meters on the East Side @ Harrison Folly.
Flying conditions are suitable for novice to intermediate pilots. The types of flying available include top-to-bottom (TTB), ridge hopping, and thermal flying. The elevation is around 200 meters above sea level (ASL), and the area is known for dynamic lift and thermals, making it pilot-friendly.
Take-off points include Sydney Point, Harrison's Folly, Tableland, and Ravine Slope. A standard flight route often leads to Mahabaleshwar.
However, caution is advised. During the 2007/2008 season, there were multiple accidents, including one fatality and several serious injuries due to pilots attempting to land on top of the west take-off or Tableland in strong wind conditions. It is recommended to land near the town of Wai in such conditions.
