Panchgani, India is a highly recommended paragliding destination with several launch sites and excellent conditions for both novice and intermediate pilots. The region offers dynamic lift and thermal flying, making it a great spot for building air time. The main launch sites include Harrison's Folly and Sydney Point. Harrison's Folly, located at an elevation of 1000 meters, is accessible by road and offers ample flat ground for top landing, even for student pilots. It is best flown with easterly winds. Sydney Point, on the other hand, has launch positions at 1300 meters and 600 meters on the west side, providing options for different wind conditions. The flying season in Panchgani runs from November to February, offering great flying weather and conditions suitable for ridge hopping, thermal flying, and top-to-bottom (TTB) flights. The elevation around the area is approximately 200 meters above sea level. For landing, pilots can use the fields at the bottom of the hill, which are a 10-minute walk from the village of Pasarni. Public transport and shareable taxis are available in Pasarni for returning to the take-off point.
