Conditions Optimales
Description
This site is primarily for coastal soaring with toplanding only. No flight logs have been found for this location. Visiting pilots should contact the Guernsey Paragliding Club first at http://guernseyparagliding.com/cms_gpc.
Takeoff is oriented between 135 degrees and 160 degrees. There is no bottom landing available. Pilots should land in the field behind the site, which can experience rotor if the wind is coming from the East, or on the lawn of the Jerbourg Hotel at the rear.
To get there, take the road to Jerbourg Point in St Martin's parish and park at the car park there. Note that this is a privately owned site, and you must have permission from the owner of Seaplane Bungalow.
Wind direction is critical here. If the wind is even slightly off to the East, it may seem strong enough, but lift will be greatly reduced, potentially leading to a descent with no sensible bottom landing available.
Please read the club rules on the Guernsey Paragliding Club (GPC) website. This site is in class 'A' airspace, and flying is only allowed with prior permission from the airport. Flyers need to be members of the GPC and Guernsey residents, or if visiting, accompanied by a GPC member and prior registered with the airport via the GPC (registration takes approximately 2 weeks). The maximum altitude allowed is 60 meters above takeoff due to the proximity of the airport. No cross-country flights are allowed.
