Description
This site offers coastal soaring and is occasionally used. No flight logs have been found for this location. Visiting pilots should contact the Guernsey Paragliding Club first at http://guernseyparagliding.com/cms_gpc.
Takeoff is oriented between 080 degrees and 100 degrees from a viewpoint. The takeoff can be challenging due to a fence that must be hopped over with the glider inflated. Be cautious of any spectators to avoid accidents.
For landing, top landing is recommended in a field to the north next to a burned-out old hotel. Bottom landing is possible but not recommended.
To get there, head to Jerbourg Point in St. Martin's Parish and park in the car park opposite Jerbourg Hotel. The GPS coordinates for takeoff parking are 49.424 N, 2.5321 W, and for landing parking are 49.4239 N, 2.5322 W.
Flight regulations require reading the club rules on the Guernsey Paragliding Club website. All flying is in Class 'A' airspace and requires prior permission from the airport. Flyers must be members of the GPC and Guernsey residents, or if visiting, accompanied by a GPC member and pre-registered with the airport via the GPC (registration takes approximately 2 weeks). The maximum altitude allowed is 60 meters above takeoff due to the proximity of the airport. Cross-country flights are not allowed.
