Description
Zoncolan is a paragliding site with a takeoff altitude of 1690 meters and a height difference of 1120 meters. It is rarely used but offers opportunities for soaring and cross-country flights.
The takeoff area is a grassy meadow suitable for both hang gliders and paragliders. The site is particularly favorable with winds from the northeast and south. However, caution is advised with winds from the west due to potential hazards.
To reach the takeoff point, head from the village of Sutrio towards Monte Zoncolan until you reach the top where the cable car arrives. In winter, a chairlift from Ravascletto (north valley) is available.
The landing zone is located in Cercivento, approximately 5.75 km from the takeoff point. Cross-country flights are possible in all directions from this site.
Local maps can be found in the TABACCO 1:25,000 nr. 9 “Alpi Carniche” series. The local flying club is "Gruppo Volo Nido delle Streghe" based in Cercivento.
