The north-facing launch sites allow for takeoffs even with north winds, which is uncommon in the surrounding areas. On thermally active days, it's best to fly to the south side of the mountain. The optimal launch point is the south launch site near the summit cross, but only if there is sufficient updraft. From the north launch site, you can fly left around the mountain to easily reach the west or south sides. There are no launch options towards the northeast, and the launch site near the summit cross facing south is only suitable for experienced paragliders. In summer 2008, a straw-covered net was placed below the top station to facilitate easier setup of the glider and lines, with three wind indicators around it.
