No start or landing fees! The operating club LUFTIKUS requests adherence to the following rules:
Main launch site: Facing NNW above the Zeppezauerhaus - from the gravel cone near the hut with the cable tension of the mountain railway (windsock available). Suitable for hang gliders (HG) and paragliders (PG).
Alternative launch sites: Facing W at the West launch site above the Hochalm. At the Salzburger Hochthron, launching towards S and E is possible in winter.
The HG launch ramp at Hochalm (facing W) can also be used for free since the new operators (Monika and Sascha) manage the Hochalm.
Landing site: For PG, only at Gasthof Esterer in Fürstenbrunn, next to the easily visible tennis courts (windsock available). HG must land on the meadow marked in the Fürstenbrunn overview! There are no other private agreements of LUFTIKUS with other landowners regarding landing permissions. Especially, landings on properties owned by the Mayr-Melnhof forestry administration, including the 'Schnöllwiese', are not desired. Landings on all other properties without the owner's consent constitute a disturbance of possession. It is considered courteous to consume your 'landing beer' at Gasthof Esterer, which provides the landing meadow.
CTR of Salzburg Airport: Check the Luftikus website. For example, the area around Schloss Glanegg must not be flown over, and landing on the meadows in front of it is prohibited. Study the airspace before flying.
LUFTIKUS is the leaseholder of all launch sites on Untersberg and requests all pilots to adhere to the flight restrictions prescribed by AUSTRO-CONTROL and agreed with the landowner.

Flight restrictions:
Annual absolute flight ban from September 10 to October 5 for hunting reasons.
Otherwise, throughout the rest of the year:
Earliest start two hours after sunrise.
After the arrival of the last cable car, start as soon as possible.
Flying on the mountain is allowed only until the setting sun touches the horizon.
Minimum flight altitude on the mountain is 50 meters GND.
From Großwasserfall towards the west (before Klingeralm), at least 250 meters GND! Behavior on the ground and in the air must be particularly considerate of wildlife and plant life. Wild animals sighted must be avoided widely.
The special regulations of Salzburg air traffic control must be strictly observed:
Only for landing approach on the respective landing meadow in Fürstenbrunn may the CTR be entered below 100 meters GND.
The leaflet issued by Untersbergbahn must be observed and can be viewed at the ticket office. The following points are particularly emphasized:
Starting and landing on the ski slope (Hochthron - Kugestattboden) and landing in the valley station area (including the parking lot) is not permitted by Untersbergbahn Ges.m.b.H.
The transport of hang gliders may be restricted to certain times by the operations manager for operational reasons (bulkiness).
