Beautiful views, top landing possible, easy to gain altitude.
Soaring is best with a nice south-southwest wind. Thermals start around 11:00 AM.
At sunset, expect light downdrafts.
Easy takeoff, ideal for beginners and less experienced pilots.
Monitor wind strength on the lake. In the afternoon, the wind can become strong.
Do not fly with north wind. No official landing zones - avoid high grass from May 1st to mid-June. Always inspect and ask if unsure. Summer valley winds can be strong!

Poschiavo and its flying areas: A stress-free region with no conflicts with farmers, hunters, or locals. Five excellent launch sites and many landing options.
IMPORTANT: Only take off and land on mowed fields! (May 10th - June 10th, high grass, landing on fields prohibited). Other good landing spots are available; Arno can provide details.
Best conditions: April - November. Be prepared for stronger valley winds in June, July, and August (1:00 PM - 6:00 PM). Launch sites accessible by private car (good natural roads). No toilets available, plan accordingly!
