This site is frequently used and offers good opportunities for cross-country flights. It is an excellent training slope and provides enjoyable soaring conditions, especially in the afternoon and evening.

Takeoff: There are two takeoff areas, a large one and a small one. The choice depends on the farmer's permission. The large area is suitable for both paragliders and hang gliders, while the small one is not. If the farmer is not available, use the small takeoff area, which is the usual starting point.
To reach the small takeoff area, walk up the dirt road for about 4 minutes until you see a bench on your right; this is the starting area.
Training Ground: Pilots who stay overnight in the Steinfeld municipality do not need to pay a start or landing fee. All other pilots must purchase a season or day pass. A local bus company provides shuttle service to the takeoff area.
The takeoff site is easily accessible by car from Steinfeld, with clear signage (approximately a 15-minute drive).
The municipality of Steinfeld, in collaboration with the FlyCarinthia flight school, has established a new flying area in the upper Drautal with a height difference of 750 m.
There are two landing areas available.
