Paragliding Hochstaufen

Hochstaufen, located in the Bad Reichenhall region of Germany, offers a unique paragliding experience. The launch site is situated directly below the summit cross of Hochstaufen, at an elevation of 1770 meters. To reach this site, you will need to embark on a hike that takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, starting from Mittelstaufen and passing by the Reichenhaller Haus. From there, it's an additional 25-minute walk to the launch area. The launch site itself is quite compact, just enough space to lay out a paraglider. The terrain is flat but short and scattered with stones, making it essential to ensure proper conditions before attempting a takeoff. A successful launch is only feasible with a steady west wind, and there is no wind sock available to gauge wind conditions.
