There are specific rules, especially regarding airspace - make sure to read them:

[Flight Area Gaisberg](http://www.paragleiter.com/gaisberg/fluggelande-gaisberg/)
A daily membership is required to fly here! €5/day, available at the 'Gaisbergwirt'.
Weather hazards: Foehn winds!
Flight regulation: Attention: 'Salzburg' Airport is very close. Special regulations are in force and must be observed to keep this area open!

Soaring conditions: Suitable when the mountain is approached from the north to the east.
Meeting point: Parking directly on the road at the landing site is not allowed. The meeting point is about 200m southeast at the campsite, where you can find parking and a cozy lounge, as well as a ride-sharing opportunity. Alternatively, you can take a taxi as a group, which costs about €15.
Flight
Thermal and cross-country opportunities are available from January to July, but the area can be flown year-round. For long-distance flights, it's best to start early (by noon). Most flights head south.
Difficulty
The main challenge is the proximity to Salzburg Airport (CTR zone). Numerous regulations must be followed, which are detailed in the launch logbook. Every pilot must sign in. A landing fee is required, and since 2007, you must register the Gaisberg or Schwarzenberg flight area with the airport.
Special features and webcam
[Flight Regulations](http://www.paragleiter.com/Flugordnung.htm)
Only with SOPI flight authorization. Sign in the launch logbook and pay the landing fee (done at the cozy wooden hut where you can also enjoy a quick apple juice). Note: new CTR regulation since 2008.
Beware of rotors, even if the windsock suggests otherwise.
