Description
Havsten is a lesser-known paragliding site primarily used for soaring. The launch site is situated at an elevation of 100 meters above sea level, with a height difference of 90 meters. The maximum flight altitude you can reach here is 470 meters.
The site is classified as a ridge (hang) flying location and requires a Pilot 1 license. The optimal wind direction for launching is from the west (O). The launch area is generally good but can be tricky in NNE winds.
To get there, take the highway exit at Uddevalla towards Orust. After the tunnel, turn south. Look for numerous flagpoles on the left at Havsten camping. After about 200 meters, the launch site will be visible on the right. The landing zone is along the road by the water. It is advisable to ask someone from VSK for assistance as it can be challenging to find.
For landing, use the parking area on the far right. Avoid landing in fields with horses.
