Description
Gustavsberg is a paragliding site occasionally used for local soaring flights. It is located just south of Uddevalla, near a swimming and sports facility along the old E6 road. Pilots typically fly over the road.
The site is a ridge (Hang) with a starting altitude of 70 meters above sea level and a height difference of 70 meters. The maximum flight altitude is 1370 meters. The launch is on a cliff above the swimming bay, and the path to the launch site should be shown.
The launch can be challenging, especially for hang gliders, as there is a very short distance to run. It is not recommended to launch in strong winds and requires three assistants for a safe start.
Landing options include top landing, landing on the football fields, or on the beach. Pilots should be cautious of power lines and rotor effects from the trees.
