Description
Engelberg, Switzerland, offers a popular paragliding site with an elevation ranging from 1800 to 1890 meters. This location is frequently used and is suitable for both soaring and cross-country (XC) flights.
In Engelberg, you can take the cable car up to Brunni. From there, a chairlift will take you to the Brunnihütte. The southwest launch site is located directly west of the Brunnihütte. You can reach the south launch site on foot, which is a few meters above the Brunnihütte. The lowest southwest-facing launch site is visible to the right from the chairlift. The main landing area is in the town, with an additional landing spot near the local paragliding school next to the campsite.
The scenery is spectacular, but flying here is not without its challenges. Be aware of controlled airspace (CTR) and cables in the Engelberg Valley. Always check if the CTR is active by calling ahead.
The grassy take-off area is situated below the mountain station and is commonly used by paragliding schools.
