Description
The training slope at Flugzentrum Bayerwald is perfect for soaring, ground handling, and evening flights.
Located in the front Bavarian Forest, there are numerous practice areas, such as Pig Mountain near Wörth. This site is easily accessible from Regensburg, directly over the highway. From the Wörth-Ost exit, head towards Falkenstein, and you'll find Pig Mountain right at the end of the village. The south to southwest-facing terrain has a height difference of 70 meters, making it ideal for soaring flights and start and handling training.
After work and on weekends, many paragliders from the Regensburg and Nuremberg areas visit the grassy slope to practice reverse launches, play in the ridge lift, or simply enjoy a picnic with their families. The site is well-suited for all these activities.
Every December, the Pig-Mountain-Cup takes place here, which is Eastern Bavaria's largest paragliding event, attracting over 100 participants and offering many great prizes.
