Description
Monte Summano in Italy offers a paragliding experience with a takeoff altitude of 1132 meters and a height difference of 950 meters. The site is regularly used and is known for its good soaring conditions and potential for cross-country (XC) flights. Access to the takeoff point is by car. The launch area is an uneven field, and the terrain consists of grass and rocks.

To reach the site, follow the access road from Garziere, Santorso, towards S. Rocco, and then follow the signs for Monte Summano (18 km). The site features a ramp and windsock.
The difficulty level is medium, and the site offers panoramic views. It is important to note that flying is prohibited with north winds.
Landing areas for both hang gliders and paragliders are located in Santorso, near the Agip gas station, at an altitude of 180 meters above sea level. Access roads include the Valdastico Highway from Vicenza, exit at Piovene Rocchette, and follow the road to Santorso. Alternatively, from Vicenza, take the state road to Thiene, direction Schio, and follow the signs to Santorso. The landing area is equipped with a windsock and signage and is visible from the takeoff point (3.5 km away). There are also several emergency landing options.
The region is frequented by hang gliders, paragliders, and gliders, offering excellent thermals. The best thermal conditions are from March to April, with classic cross-country routes to Monte Grappa in the east and Monte Pasubio.
