Description
This paragliding site offers coastal soaring with toplanding only. No flight logs have been found for this location. Visiting pilots should contact the Guernsey Paragliding Club (GPC) first at http://guernseyparagliding.com/cms_gpc.
Takeoff is oriented between 160 degrees and 180 degrees. There is no bottom landing available, so you must land back in the takeoff field.
To get there, head to Le Coemil off Route De La Palloterie in St Pierre Du Bois Parish. The entrance to the site is through a locked gate.
The site is privately owned, and you need the landowner's permission to fly. Obtain the gate key from a GPC member. Avoid landing near the goat in the field to prevent scaring it.
Weather hazards include the potential for rotor development if the wind increases, and it is easy to be blown backward with even a slight increase in wind speed.
Flight regulations require you to read the club rules on the GPC website. The area is classified as 'A' airspace, and flying is allowed only with prior permission from the airport. Flyers must be GPC members and Guernsey residents, or if visiting, accompanied by a GPC member and pre-registered with the airport via the GPC (registration takes approximately two weeks). The maximum altitude allowed is 60 meters above takeoff due to the proximity of the airport. Cross-country flights are not permitted.
