Description
Located in Central Switzerland, this paragliding site offers a takeoff altitude between 940-971 meters and is considered medium-easy in difficulty. The site is frequently used and is known for its beautiful valley wind soaring, especially dynamic soaring in west wind conditions. Some cross-country flying is possible from here.
The main takeoff directions are south, southwest, and west. The site record is 10.7 km, and it takes about an hour to walk from Lake Sihl up to 1380 meters above sea level.
The soaring area is small but accessible on foot with a 10-15 minute hike. Please pay attention to the instructions at the parking and landing areas and ensure you pay the modest landing fee to help maintain the site.
Dynamic soaring along the slope is enjoyable in west wind conditions. If you gain enough altitude, you can attempt to fly towards Hoch Ybrig or Chli Aubrig.
Be cautious of the Bise wind, which can create very turbulent conditions. This is noticeable if there is an east wind at the takeoff site despite valley wind at the landing area.
