The Chli Aubrig, located between the Sihlsee and the Wägitalersee in the Schwyz region of Switzerland, is a lesser-known paragliding site. It offers a unique experience for those who enjoy combining hiking with flying. The launch site is a large, moderately steep meadow at an elevation of 1580 meters. The best wind direction for takeoff is from the southwest (200° - 245°).
To reach the launch site, you need to hike for approximately 105 minutes from Euthal, following the road to Lattbach and then taking the hiking trail over Altenberg. There is no cable car available, so be prepared for a bit of a trek.
The Chli Aubrig is not known for significant altitude differences, but it does provide opportunities for soaring and thermal flying when the weather conditions are right. If the wind is more easterly, you can attempt a launch from a smaller hill below the summit and immediately turn right after takeoff.
The wind conditions at Chli Aubrig can be unpredictable. In Euthal, the wind might blow slightly from the south, while on the Wildspitz, it could shift to the east. At Chli Aubrig, the wind might come from the east, pushing you down into the valley, making takeoff challenging.
