This site is rarely used and is ideal for hike & fly and thermalling. It is non-regulated, so please use common sense. There is no official landing zone, so make sure to check your options beforehand.
Region: California, USA. The site record is 4.3 km. For more details, visit: [Yahoo Group - Soboba Soaring](https://http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sobobasoaring/).
Takeoff: The launch site is a small hill known as "Little F*****g Bump" at an elevation of 3,500 feet, generally facing West. You will need to hike up a dirt road from the parking area on the East side of the hill. Use the larger hill to the East to gain altitude and then transition to any of the other hills to the North and Southeast if conditions allow.
Weather: The area is backed by Mount San Jacinto, which can develop thunderstorms during the summer months.
Access: From Florida Avenue in downtown Hemet, head East towards Idyllwild. Florida Avenue becomes Highway 74. Bee Canyon Road starts at:
Latitude: 33° 44' 13"
Longitude: -116° 49' 29"
Follow the dirt road up the canyon in a generally northward direction to a wide area where 3-4 dirt roads meet. This is at the North end of a small hill. Follow the main road around the backside of the hill, which will zigzag up the mountain and around the launch hill. Park in the obvious wide spot on the back side of the launch hill.
Comments: This area is suitable for winds coming across the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley from the Southwest through Northwest. There are several nearby hills facing West and Southwest, with Indian Mountain, Idyllwild Ponds, and Chimney Flats within reach on a good day.
