The launch site is a beautiful, moderately steep meadow on the southwestern ridge side, easily accessible with a 30-minute hike from the pass height of the panoramic road. From Sörenberg or Giswil, you can reach the pass height and then follow the mountain path along the NW ridge to the summit. Pilots often fly over Mörlialp directly towards Giswil or attempt to gain altitude at the Giswilerstöcke, a mountain range southeast of the launch site, to head towards Brienzer-Rothorn. Flights towards Brünig and Planplatten are also possible but more challenging. Thermals begin to develop in the morning but are initially weak.
