Surf Bombo

Bombo - Kiama Bombo features a powerful beach break with both right and left waves over a sandy bottom. Located just north of Kiama, it offers instant access with a short walk from the road. The spot works well at all tides, with optimal conditions when the swell comes from the east or northeast and the wind is from the north or northeast. This surf spot is known for its dynamic banks that can produce hard, hollow waves when conditions align. While it generally sees few surfers during the week, weekends may attract more crowds. Be cautious of strong rips and respect the local surfers, especially at the popular left called Pump Rock at the north end. Always assess the surf conditions before paddling out, as Bombo can change rapidly and may not be worth the wait if it’s flat.
