Paragliding Valdres, Smørkollen ved Båtskaret

Located approximately 2 km north of Beitostølen, this site is a rarely used soaring spot. It offers a good ridge soaring experience, especially with southern wind directions. Historically, hang gliders from Valdres have flown on the southern side of Bitihorn, indicating that there are several suitable soaring locations towards Valdresflya. For Heklefjellet, park near Smørkoll along RV51. Cross the road and follow the trail to the right; the launch site is easy to find. Be cautious with westerly winds.
