Description
At an altitude of 1185 meters, this site is occasionally used for paragliding, primarily for thermal soaring with some potential for cross-country flights.
The easiest way to fly here is to park your car at BĂ„tskaret and walk to the south side of Bitihorn. If conditions are favorable, the walk should take no more than 7-8 minutes. For optimal lift, a bit of wind is beneficial. This allows for ridge soaring and interacting with hikers ascending the mountainside. On good days, thermals rise up the mountainside, and catching the right thermal cycle can make the 400-meter climb to the top seem effortless.
If you can't maintain lift, it's easy to land on one of the nearby marshes, and the walk back to the launch site is short. There are plenty of bare mountain areas and marshes available for landing.
