Description
Located in the 24 de Mayo region of Manabi, Ecuador, this paragliding site offers an elevation of 481 meters above sea level. The takeoff area is oriented towards the west and north, situated at 500 meters above sea level with minimal inclination. To reach the takeoff point, you will need to hike for at least 15 minutes, starting with a steep trail.
For easier access, it is recommended to hire a truck or motorcycle to get closer to the launch area. From there, a 25-minute walk will bring you to a broad esplanade. This takeoff zone features three points of thermal convergence, marked by windsocks placed at the edge and center of the area. When both windsocks point in the same direction, it is safe to take off. Thermal cycles are typically short, occurring every 15 to 20 minutes.
This site is occasionally used but offers the potential for cross-country (XC) flights. The site record is 21.0 km.
