Parapente Saint Joseph Mission Onward Ranch, BC

Onward Ranch, located 10 miles south of Williams Lake on Hwy 97 at 150 Mile House in Central British Columbia, Canada, offers a unique paragliding experience. The site is occasionally used and is suitable for hike & fly, thermalling, and cross-country (XC) flying. Top landing is possible for experienced pilots, and there are many landing options in the valley. The launch elevation is 2850 feet above sea level, with a height difference of 200 meters. The landing zone (LZ) is at 1900 feet above sea level. The site is informal and requires HPAC insurance. The north launch is logged, open, and steep, while the southeast launch is also open and steep. Both launches are considered good. To reach the launch, take the cutoff road around the west side of 150 Mile House through the Sugar Cane Indian Reservation. After 5 km, turn left for a kilometer at the Onward Ranch. The main LZ is at the T intersection, with roads leading to each launch. The southeast site requires a 4WD vehicle year-round, while the north site requires 4WD in spring and 2WD in summer. The flying season is rated as follows: Spring and Summer are good, Fall is moderate, and Winter is not suitable for flying. The site offers good potential for XC flights, with plentiful ridge lift. Approximately 50% of paragliding flights in the area originate from this site. The north LZ is a pasture, while the southeast LZ is on the edge of a cropped field, with lots of open pasture below the ridge. The main LZ is at the T intersection at the bottom of the mountain, right between the two launches.
