The Rotenfluespitz is part of the flying area around Marbach, Wiggen, Schüpfheim, Escholzmatt, and Fluehli in the Entlebuch region of the Canton of Lucerne. In the afternoon, the site benefits from consistent updrafts, making it ideal for soaring. At Gsteig, you can enjoy soaring in both valley and Bise winds.
Access to the launch sites is generally possible by car from Escholzmatt and Fluehli, though public transportation options are limited. The mountain side faces northwest, providing soaring and thermal flying opportunities, especially in the afternoon. Early starts are possible from Spielberg, Gsteig, and Beichlen.
