Parapente Mount Ikeda Ikedayama Flight Area

The Ikedayama Flight Area in Ikeda-cho, Ibi-gun, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, offers a launch altitude of 730 meters. This site is regularly used for thermal soaring, with some potential for cross-country flights. It is primarily used by hang gliders but is also suitable for paragliders. Takeoff and landing zones are separate for hang gliders and paragliders. The launch area is well-maintained, with a slope terrain and a launch deck provided. The launch altitude is 800 meters above sea level, and the landing zone is at 50 meters above sea level, with a distance of 2,700 meters between them. Access to the site is convenient by both car and train. By car, you can take the Meishin Expressway and get off at the Gifu-Hashima ramp if coming from the east, or the Sekigahara ramp if coming from the west. By train, you can get off at Ohgaki Station on the JR Tokaido Line, transfer to the Kintetsu RR Ibi Line, and get off at Ikeno Station, which is a 20-minute walk from the site. The site is open year-round but closed on snowy days. There are schools available for both hang gliding and paragliding, including HG Tokai Hanggliding School and Aero Cruise.
