Description
At an altitude of 1530 meters, this launch site is regularly used for safety training. The takeoff area, facing approximately northeast, is located a few steps below the mountain station of the military railway to Gjaidalm. Although it may look daunting with a high-voltage power line directly overhead and obstacles below, it is surprisingly manageable for takeoff. Be sure not to lay out your wing too high up due to the power line. If you find yourself too low, you can land to the right before the obstacles.
This site is also accessible via the Krippenstein cable car. Take the third section and then walk approximately 30 to 45 meters, following the signs to 'Gjaidalm'. One significant advantage of this launch site is its lower altitude, which means it is often clear when low-hanging clouds obscure higher sites. Additionally, its lower position offers wind protection, allowing for takeoffs even when conditions at higher altitudes are unfavorable. This location is primarily used for safety training sessions.
