Description
Located in Øyer, Norway, this paragliding site offers a launch height of 690 meters above sea level with a vertical drop of 515 meters. The site is regularly used and is known for its excellent soaring conditions. It also provides opportunities for cross-country flights to the north. The natural launch direction ranges from south, southeast to southwest. Be cautious of westerly winds as they can create turbulence and rotor. Restrictions: The launch site is closed in May and June when sheep are grazing. Always keep gates closed. We have permission for both launching and landing, but please be considerate when driving and parking. Due to the proximity of a nesting area for one of Norway's rarest and protected birds of prey, pilots are urged not to fly at low altitudes further west (towards Tretten) than the main ridge (Skjøndsbergaksla). This restriction does not apply at higher altitudes. Note that the area in question rarely offers anything but sink or turbulence. Please respect this rule. Information about this can be found on the information board at the launch and landing sites.
