Description
At an elevation of 1670 meters, the east launch site at Jenner is occasionally used, with the main launch direction being west-northwest. Cross-country flights are possible, and the landscape is beautiful.
Located in the Schonau am Königssee region of Germany, Jenner is one of the most scenic flying areas in the country. The flight over the fjord-like Königssee and the view of the massive Watzmann mountain range are spectacular. However, the terrain is challenging for pilots. The main landing area for paragliders is near the valley station and can be turbulent due to valley winds and thermals. Information about the site can be found at the valley station or on the local club's website.
In winter, the east launch site is closed for safety reasons due to ski operations. The launch area is a large, hilly, and expansive meadow.

The Steinadler Project has been successfully practiced in Berchtesgaden for years. An information board at the valley station informs pilots about the nesting areas of golden eagles, which should be avoided. With some luck, you might find yourself soaring alongside golden eagles, griffon vultures, or bearded vultures outside the nesting areas. Please be considerate and respect these guidelines.
