Description
Näset, located south of Gothenburg, is a popular local soaring site. The launch area is situated at an elevation of 35 meters above sea level, with a height difference of 35 meters. The maximum flight altitude you can reach here is 455 meters.
The site is best suited for pilots with a Pilot 2 license. The optimal wind directions for flying are southwest (SV) and south (S). You can start either a bit up on the cliffs or in front of the ridge on the concrete slab.
Landing can be done on the concrete slab or on the small sandy beach. However, the sandy beach is generally preferred for landing.
This site is known for good lift, but it requires experience in ridge soaring and excellent ground handling skills. It is most frequently flown in the spring and late summer. During warm weather, the area can become crowded with beachgoers, making landing spots scarce.
