Located in the Sierra foothills of California, the paragliding site at Pilot Hill offers a modest elevation of 371 meters with a height difference of 71 meters. This site is regularly used and is ideal for walk-and-fly activities. It serves as a good training ground with local soaring and small thermals, but it is not suitable for cross-country flights.

Before flying at Cronan Ranch, it is essential to contact a local pilot for a site introduction. Although Cronan is not officially rated, it is recommended for P3/P4 pilots. The area is shared with cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders, so always be respectful and alert. If you encounter horseback riders, set your wing down and wait for them to pass to avoid spooking the horses. If you are already in the air, try to stay airborne until the riders have passed, or land as far away from them as possible.
Maintaining the cleanliness of Cronan Ranch is crucial. Pack out all your trash and consider picking up extra litter to help keep the area clean.
