Description
The launch site is easily accessible and located on the North-West side of Monte Cimarani, near the Sanctuary of Madonna di Pietraquaria. The landing zone, situated 500 meters below, is clearly visible from the launch point.
Recommended wind directions are West and South-West. Flights are possible with North-East winds on the opposite slope, but they are less enjoyable.
To reach the site, take the A25 highway and exit at Avezzano. Follow the signs to the Sanctuary of Madonna di Pietraquaria. Once there, continue past the sanctuary onto a dirt road leading to the launch site. The launch altitude is 1050 meters above sea level.
There is an overhead power line just behind the dirt road near the launch site. Radio and TV transmitters are located at the North-West end of the mountain. Top landing is easy. The landing zone presents no difficulties.
