Description
Located in the San Bernardino area, just an hour's drive from Los Angeles, this paragliding site offers a high launch with stunning views of the valley below. It's an underrated spot for cross-country (XC) paragliding, especially when you have light north-northeast (NNE) winds.
The launch site is at an elevation of 1943 meters with a height difference (HD) of 580 meters. Given the remote and low-populated desert surroundings, it's crucial not to fly alone or unsupported.
To reach the launch site, a four-wheel-drive vehicle is highly recommended. While a two-wheel-drive vehicle might get you there, it poses a 75% chance of damaging the roads, which could lead to restrictions by rangers due to road abuse.

The exact GPS coordinates for the launch are 34.34298/-116.81917. You can find the dirt road entrance on the right side of Hwy 18 as you drive downhill, marked by a noticeable building structure on the opposite side of the road.
