The take-off area is comfortable, located on an alpine meadow, making it less suitable for winter flights. The take-off direction is northwest.
To get there, drive to Sarnen or Kerns. From there, take the mountain road towards Aecherlipass. About 1 km before the pass, turn right onto a dirt road until you reach a no-entry sign at a wood storage area. From this point, it's about a one-hour hike to Arvialp.
Landing zones are typically at Lido-Sarnen, Kerns-Dossenmatte, or Kerns Sand.
Arvialp is considered a local mountain for resident pilots, who have even erected a beautiful summit cross at the peak. You can start and fly in various directions from this region. There is no on-site take-off information, so make sure to check the general airspace regulations beforehand, as you are near a CTR zone. It's advisable to follow the local pilots if it's your first time on the mountain.
