Parapente Arran Dereneach Aard Bheinn

Dereneneach is a lesser-known paragliding site, occasionally used for hike & fly adventures. The takeoff area is located at a height of 400 meters and is best suited for west wind directions. The site is situated along the String road (B880) with parking available at grid reference NR 930 334. From the parking area, walk 300 meters up the track and then head directly up the hill to reach the takeoff point at grid reference NR 937 329. The expansive moorland in front of the takeoff area makes it an excellent thermal collector, especially on summer afternoons, providing opportunities for cross-country flights to the other side of the island. Access to the site is generally straightforward, but if you have any doubts, you can ask for guidance at Bridge Farm, located 1500 meters south at grid reference NR 927 318.
