Conditions Optimales
Description
Zwieselalm, located near Gosau, Austria, is a popular paragliding site known for its excellent soaring conditions and potential for cross-country flights. The launch site is at an elevation of 1568 meters, with a height difference of 500-744 meters. Pilots often start from the west launch and fly approximately 1.7 km northeast to a thermal hotspot. From there, you can embark on a valley tour or a scenic flat triangle crossing the Dachstein.
Please note that Zwieselalm is not an officially approved launch site. Both launching and landing are tolerated by the landowners and the lift company DAG. Always adhere to basic paragliding principles, especially when flying near cable car installations. The launch directions are NW, N, NE, and SE. If conditions are unsuitable for flying, the descent by cable car is free for safety reasons.
The site offers a stunning panorama over Gosausee and the Dachstein with the Gosau glacier. There are no fees for launching or landing. The site is suitable for both summer and winter seasons.
For more information, visit the local paragliding club's website: [Sky Club Austria](http://www.skyclub-austria.at/).
Access to the launch site is convenient, with a 3-minute walk from the mountain station. The launch area is a grassy meadow. Park your car at the valley station, where the landing area is also located. Be mindful of the alpine terrain, as weather conditions can change rapidly, but the site offers excellent opportunities for thermal and cross-country flights.
