Located at an elevation of 2160 meters, this paragliding launch site is considered easy to use. It is rarely utilized but offers potential for cross-country flights.
To reach the launch site, take a post bus from Grindelwald to Waldspitz. From Waldspitz, it's a 30-minute hike to the launch site, which is situated 350 meters above the Waldspitz restaurant or 250 meters above the Waldspitz launch site. The hike involves a rightward ascent. The launch area is spacious, free of stones and obstacles, and is often used for evening flights along with the Waldspitz launch site. In the evening, there can be light downdrafts. During the day, the area is quite thermic, leading to somewhat irregular and turbulent launch winds.
Thermal entry points are directly in front of the launch site above the Waldspitz restaurant or slightly to the right towards the west. Usage of the site is free, and it is managed by the local club Jungfrau Tächi.
The typical launch window is from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with thermals starting around 10:00 AM. The site is generally flyable in all normal weather conditions, though it can be turbulent at times. Stable summer weather offers the possibility of beautiful evening flights.
