At an elevation of 1861 meters, the Peter Rosegger launch site offers an easy takeoff experience. This site is frequently used and provides excellent opportunities for cross-country flights. The launch area is accessible from March 31 to October 30 for both hang gliders and paragliders.
The launch site is about a 6-minute walk from the Steinerhaus parking lot and approximately 15 minutes from Rosemialm. The Stoderzinken mountain is one of the premier flying locations in the Ennstal region. Access to the launch sites is via a toll road. Hang gliders can start from a wooden ramp facing south after a short walk from the Steinerhaus parking lot. Other launch sites are located near the summit and require about a 30-minute hike.
The Peter Rosegger south launch site (S, SW) is particularly noted for its excellent morning thermals. The ascent from the first parking lot at Rosemialm, where you can also enjoy a good breakfast, is especially charming and takes about 15 minutes to reach the Peter Rosegger launch site.

The area is suitable for both paragliders and hang gliders and is an approved training ground. However, avoid launching from Peter Rosegger if the wind is from the north, northwest, northeast, or east at 15 km/h or more, as it becomes turbulent and lee-side. Wind information is available on the LPD radio frequency 433.125 MHz, updated every 4 minutes.
The Stoderzinken is ideal for panoramic, thermal, and cross-country flights. The launch and landing sites are straightforward. The flight school offers area briefings in the Flightpark Dachstein and in thermal and cross-country flight courses. A cross-country briefing is available on Saturday mornings at Schloss Moosheim with prior registration.
The area is known for its excellent thermals to the west and east (Dachstein, Kammspitz, Grimming). Avoid the north-northeast side of Stoderzinken due to poor lift and landing options. Strong east winds can prevent reaching the landing site.
Before flying, purchase a start and landing card at the toll station guesthouse (€3). Launching outside the designated areas and winter flights towards the west are prohibited due to wildlife conservation.

To reach the site, take the Tauernautobahn A10 from Salzburg to Villach, exit at Ennstal, and continue on the B320 (B146) through Radstadt and Schladming to Gröbming-Winkel. Access the mountain via a toll road. Taxi services are available at Tel. (03685) 23985 or Tel. (0663) 9635232.

The south launch direction is SO S, with an easy difficulty level at an elevation of 2030 meters, making it the most used launch site, located half an hour's walk from the toll road. The north launch direction is N, with a difficult level at 2048 meters, situated directly at the summit and less frequently used due to the need to navigate around a rock face. The northwest launch direction is NW, with a medium difficulty level at 2000 meters, located next to the ski lift and also a half-hour walk from the toll road.
