Paragliding Shinanodaira Flight Area

Shinanodaira Flight Area is located in Kotobuki, Iiyama City, Nagano Prefecture. This site is suitable for both hang gliders and paragliders. It is accessible within 20 minutes from the Iiyama IC of the Jyoshinetsu Expressway, covering a distance of 15km. The flying season runs from mid-April to mid-November, as the site is closed during the winter season. There is no pickup service available. The takeoff area, known as Shinanodaira TO, features a southeast-facing 40㎡ platform with a 30-degree slope. The takeoff height is 500 meters, and it takes about 20 minutes by car to reach the landing area, which is 8km away. The landing area, Shinanodaira LD, is approximately 100m by 50m in size and is located 1.5km vertically from the takeoff point. The recommended approach is from the lee side to the windward direction, with no obstacles in the way. Please note that there is a penalty fee of JY4,000 if any damage is caused to rice fields due to outside landing.
