Description
Located at an altitude of 1390 meters, this paragliding site is known for its challenging conditions. It is frequently used and offers excellent soaring opportunities, with the potential for good cross-country flights. The take-off is from a cliff facing north.
The site is accessible via a 25-minute walk from Weissenstein. The take-off area is small and suitable for wind directions from northwest to northeast. It is a short grassy slope, followed by a steep drop-off. Be cautious of strong rotors, especially during Bise winds.

To reach the site, take the chairlift from Oberdorf to Weissenstein. From there, follow the hiking trail to the summit of Röti. The walk takes about 30 minutes. Note that the site is not recommended during Bise winds due to strong rotors.

The site is best enjoyed with northwest to northeast winds. On thermally active days, updrafts can carry you as far as Oberdorf. Otherwise, you may land at Welschenrohr or Glutzenberg. Soaring is possible with northwest winds, and top landing is feasible. The site is particularly beautiful in winter when covered in snow.
Be aware of the southern approach from Basel Airport, with a ceiling of 1700 meters when the southern approach is active.
