Description
Located in Belgium, this paragliding site offers a challenging experience with a cliff takeoff at an altitude of 255 meters. The takeoff area is small, allowing only one wing at a time, and is particularly technical under light wind conditions and turbulent with strong or west winds. The site is situated in the National Park 'de la Lesse et Lomme,' so respecting the environment is crucial.
The site is regularly used for soaring, and occasionally cross-country flights are possible. However, it can be dangerous with no wind or too strong wind conditions. The site record is 69.7 km.
Parking is available at 'Rond du Roi,' and from there, the takeoff is a 200-meter walk. The airspace is relatively clear, but be cautious of the Bertrix aerodrome, which may be active.
The landing area is at an altitude of 160 meters, consisting of large fields with windsocks. Be mindful of cows and barbed wire fences. During hay season, only the field with cows is authorized for landing. Access to the landing zone is either by a 20-minute walk through the woods or by car via the road to the Rochefort sewage treatment plant.
