Description
Located in Utah, USA, this paragliding site sits at an elevation of 1571 meters with a height difference of 110 meters. It is frequently used for soaring and training, making it an excellent spot for beginners and intermediate pilots. The site is best flown in the early morning before the thermals become too strong. While it is primarily a training site, there are occasional opportunities for cross-country flights.
The site is renowned for its consistent airflow, with south winds in the morning and north winds in the evening. This unique wind pattern is due to the ancient Lake Bonneville, which left smooth sand ridges on a mountain finger that runs perpendicular to the airflow, creating ideal soaring conditions almost daily.
Membership with the local club is required to fly here, and the site is often busy, especially in the mornings. By around 10:00 am, thermals start to develop, and most pilots pack up, leaving the site to more advanced flyers. For evening flights, the north side of the site is recommended.
