A few minutes from the cable car station (from Meiringen or Hasliberg-Reuti), there's a large meadow that should accommodate everyone. Flyable year-round.

From Meiringen, take the cable car to Planplatten. Then head west to the launch site, which is a flat hollow. Suitable only in stable high-pressure conditions.
A challenging classic and arguably one of the 10 most beautiful areas in Switzerland. Located in the heart of the Bernese Alps, it's well-positioned for various cross-country flights (except on weekdays when CTR Meiringen takes priority).
The panoramic view is breathtaking. Thermals are abundant. At the landing site, you can relax at Restaurant Pontli and unwind after your flight.
However, wind and weather can change dramatically during a flight, sometimes even minute by minute. Do not fly in Bise or Föhn conditions! Be cautious of the sometimes strong valley wind, especially near the landing site (Aareschlucht).
Flight
It's recommended to first fly towards Meiringen train station. Even if you don't feel the valley wind at altitude, you might encounter significant surprises. Then turn towards the landing site, as being blown into the narrow Aareschlucht valley can be problematic.
Warning: The wooded hills directly in front of Meiringen can be in the lee during strong valley winds! Do not fly too low over them!
