Monte Nero Alto in Ospedaletti, Liguria, Italy, offers a medium-difficulty paragliding experience with a takeoff altitude of 530 meters above sea level. This site is regularly used for thermal soaring, and some cross-country (XC) flights are possible. It is the most popular takeoff in Ospedaletti, making it a highly recommended spot.
The takeoff faces East/Southeast, and the landing zone is on the beach in Ospedaletti. The site is ideal for tandem tourist flights, offering stunning sea views. To reach the takeoff, you must use the official shuttle service provided by the local club, as private vehicles are not allowed, and the road is quite rough.
Thermal conditions are generally favorable, allowing for a few hours of soaring above the bay. However, if the wind from the sea becomes too strong, it is advisable to move to a lower takeoff point. Popular flight destinations include the beach of San Remo, Bordighera, Monte Bignone, and Monte Ceppo.
Due to ongoing construction, there is no official landing site, and strong winds can make flying challenging. It is recommended to start flights around midday, as afternoon winds can make takeoff difficult.
For those interested in walk-and-fly, Monte Caparo and Monte Bandido are accessible with a 20-minute hike from the parking area above Coldirodi. The path to Monte Carparo is steep, while the route to Monte Bandido is more gradual.

Accommodation is available at the Villaggio dei Fiori campsite in San Remo, which is a 10-minute bus ride from the meeting point. The main flying mountains, Monte Nero with its 540-meter height difference and Bandito, offer beautiful flying experiences. Monte Nero's takeoff is suitable for evening flights with reliable wind conditions and experienced reverse launchers.
