At the landing site next to the Schilthornbahn, there is an information board about the Mürren flight area. From Stechelberg, take the cable car to Mürren. Follow the path upwards, passing under the Schilthornbahn, then descend 50m to the base station of the Schiltgrat chairlift. After the chairlift ride, follow the ski slope 50m downhill. The launch site is marked with a green paraglider sign. It is a large, relatively flat, and machine-groomed launch area between the chairlift and the ski lift, next to the ski slope and the Schiltgrathüsi. The launch site is only open during the winter season. Expect base jumpers at Mürrenfluh throughout the day during the winter months. No soaring along the Mürrenfluh below village height from November to February.
Suitability:
Normal launch time is from 10:00 to 15:00. Light thermals start from 11:00. Generally flyable in all normal weather conditions. The area is also suitable for maneuver or acro flying. Not ideal for long-distance cross-country flights.
