At the landing site next to the Schilthornbahn, there is a situational plan and information board regarding the take-off point. From Stechelberg, take the cable car to Mürren. Follow the path upwards, which goes under the Schilthornbahn and the Schiltgrat chairlift, then ascends steeply. After a 90° right turn, follow the path for another 50 meters, then turn right towards the barn. The take-off point is 30 meters above the barn. The take-off area is relatively small, and the wind usually comes up the slope thermally.
Thermal entry: Fly left along the Mürrenfluh or immediately after take-off, head right along the terrain over Gimmelwald towards Sefinental. After 15:00, it is recommended to cross the valley towards Jungfrau to enjoy the evening thermals. From 16:00 onwards, expect base jumpers at Mürrenfluh, making soaring at Mürrenfluh prohibited after this time. The take-off site is only usable from May to November, outside the ski season. Paragliding Jungfrau GmbH operates and maintains the official paragliding take-off site at "Wurmegg" in Mürren. For private purposes (solo pilots, tandem pilots for passenger flights), it is free; for commercial purposes, please consult with Paragliding Jungfrau GmbH. The area below the tennis courts is not an official take-off site. Starting under or near the cables of the Schilthornbahn is prohibited.
Suitability:
Normal start time is from 8:30 to 16:00. Thermals typically begin around 10:00. Generally, the site is flyable in all normal weather conditions. The area is also suitable for maneuver or acro flying. However, it is not ideal for long-distance flights.
