Description
At an altitude of 1715 meters, this paragliding site is relatively easy to access but is rarely used. Cross-country flights are possible. You can reach the takeoff point either by a chairlift (which operates infrequently) or by a one-hour hike from Frassene. There are various takeoff options, mostly facing southwest.
Flights typically start at Rifugio Scarpa, with southwest winds being common. You can enjoy the thermals and ascend up to 3000 meters, reaching the peaks of Mont Agner. From there, you have two main flight paths:
Westward: Passo Cereda-Rifugio Pettina-Pale di S.Martino-southern slope (a very technical route).
Eastward: Agordo-Monte Framont.
Be cautious of an electrical line near the landing area in Frassene.
The chairlift, 'SEGGIOVIA Frassene-Malga Losh,' is associated with Rifugio Scarpa. It is advisable to book in advance due to its infrequent use. Contact: +39 0437 67.010.
Accommodation is available at Rifugio Scarpa, located right at the top station of the chairlift, offering 50 beds and stunning views. Meals can be arranged with prior notice, and a theory room is available.
To get there, drive from Belluno to Agordo and then to Forcella-Aurine. After about 9 km, you will reach Frassene.
The paragliding area above Frassene, with its takeoff point directly at Rifugio Scarpa on Alp Malga Losh, offers a Dolomite-worthy environment and its own chairlift. If you stay here, you might get access to the chairlift as part of your accommodation package.
This paraglider-friendly, relatively easy site offers flights in an exceptionally attractive setting. The Dolomite-like thermals provide ample opportunities for extended cross-country flights in all directions. There are two landing options: Frassene (1125m) near the chairlift or Agordo (640m).
