Description
Located in the Faavang region of Norway, this paragliding site is occasionally used and offers soaring opportunities with some potential for cross-country flights. The site sits at an elevation of 1008 meters above sea level, with a height difference of 820 meters.
To reach the takeoff point, drive to the west side of the river in FÄvang. Turn left towards Tretten, and after 2 kilometers, take a right turn following signs for Lindvik and BÄnsetra. There is a toll fee of 35 NOK. Continue straight until you reach the top, then turn left following the sign for the slate quarry. Just before passing two large chained stones, turn right or park here and walk the remaining distance. The takeoff is 100 meters to the left on the hill, or you can start 50 meters further on a small flat area just above the tree line. Enjoy the view!
Be aware that it can be tricky to gain altitude here during high-pressure weather conditions. The best thermal often forms slightly to the left of the slate quarry.
There is no organized landing zone, but you can easily glide back to FÄvang, where you can park your car. For more details, visit [Flightlog](http://no.flightlog.org/fl.html?l=2&a=22&country_id=160&start_id=819).
